Savannah Guthrie does a BACKBEND in impressive Instagram shot

Savannah Guthrie is proud to reveal that after a 30-day at-home yoga challenge, she can successfully do a backbend again — a move she hadn’t been flexible enough to do since she became a mom.

The 48-year-old Today anchor took to Instagram on Sunday to share a photo of herself in a wheel pose with her feet and hands pressed into the floor as she pushes her pelvis towards the ceiling.

‘Things I can do again!’ she captioned the snapshot, referencing a throwback photo of herself doing the same move before she had her daughter Vale, five, and son Charley, three.

‘On January 30 I posted an old photo (swipe) with the caption “things I could do before kids”… I honestly thought this was part of my past: some lost strength and balance and motivation – yes, lost to me, but totally worth it by the way for my precious babies,’ she wrote.

‘But then: on February 1, I accepted a challenge and set out on a 30 day yoga challenge with my friends/colleagues at @todayshow, (aka “my darling ones”). We promised ourselves and each other that we would do yoga every single day, rain or shine, tired or dragging, at home or on the road, happy or sad.’

As part of the post, she shared photos of her Today show co-workers doing yoga during the challenge as well as an adorable snapshot of her daughter Vale in downward facing dog while her brother is lying underneath her.

Savannah is believed to make $7 million a year at the Today show, but instead of hiring a trainer or going to a fancy yoga studio, she followed Adriene Mishler’s free program on her Yoga With Adriene YouTube channel.

‘Our guru was @adrienelouise, our journey was her #Home 30 Day yoga challenge. #freeyoga #youtube,’ Savannah explained. ‘I’m so proud of us all because we did it! We encouraged each other, checked in with each other, sent thousands of yoga emojis to each other – and I think we are all walking a little taller, a little straighter, a little prouder. Basically, we feel like nama-stars!

‘Even my kids started doing yoga with me,’ the mom of two added. ‘So thank you, with the biggest exhale, dearest darling one @adrienelouise for being such a kind and warm and gentle teacher. Lotsa love in, lotsa love out. Darling ones, what’s next?’
