A fed-up mum admitted she once got revenge on a cheating ex by hiding seafood marinara under the seat of his car.
Speaking on SBS Insight Jacqueline Woods said she felt amazing after planting the seafood and even better when she found out he had been ‘driving around with his windows open for months’.
And after more than 20 years it appears she was still fired up about the scandal.
She explained her crafty ex had ‘asked for a break’ from the relationship – but her best friend knew better.
‘The break he was having was with her junior apprentice,’ she claimed.
The girl in question was much younger, which infuriated her further.
Jacqueline Woods once got revenge on a cheating boyfriend by hiding seafood in his car – this happened in the early 90s
She went on to explain she had been further triggered when, after the official breakup, her cheating boyfriend pulled moves on her.
‘He came to pick up some of his stuff,’ she said.
In response Jacqueline took the cap off an aerosol can, placed octopus from the marinara mix inside and then hid it under the seat of his vintage car.
She explained the seat was loaded with springs, making it the perfect hiding place.
Jacqueline, who is now married with kids, added it was winter when she executed her revenge.
Her ex had to leave the house, with his young girlfriend, at 6am every morning to go to work – it was very cold.
The rancid smell from the rotting octopus was so bad the windows had to be down at all times, making trips unbearably cold.
‘It made me feel wonderful to hear they were driving around with the windows down,’ she said.
‘He was miserable, it made me feel wonderful.’
She giggled as she told her story – her smirks were met with matching looks from the crowd.
And many online appeared to be on Jacqueline’s side.
‘I love what that woman did, and I also love that she feels good about it. You rock lady,’ said another.
Some took the time to share their own moments of revenge.
‘I got great pleasure in getting rid of his tools often giving them away, putting stuff on nature strip. I did keep the tools that would be useful to me though,’ one woman said.
‘The best revenge I had was to ring the girl he was cheating on me with and alert her to the fact that he was playing us both. We spoke for hours trading stories and lies he had told us. I made sure I wasn’t alone in the house when I confronted him and all of his lies unravelled,’ one woman said.
Adding: ‘He had an unpredictable rage, so I wanted to ensure someone else was in the home at the time for my safety. To see his face when I called him out was so satisfying and all of his lies, disillusionment and gaslighting for months and months all came crashing down.’
‘I cut my ex’s beautifully ironed (by me) work shirt sleeves off only one sleeve on each shirt.. and his black perfectly pressed trousers were elegantly slit on the side seam,’ said another.
The seafood was easy to hide in his vintage Corolla, she chose to put it with the springs, under the seat
She took a handful of octopus from her freezer and stashed it in his car where it quickly started to smell
Others said people should take a calmer approach.
‘The best revenge is when someone expects you to do something stupid but you don’t react. You move on and live a happy life and they can’t figure out why you didn’t do anything,’ one said.
‘Best revenge is to stay confident and become successful. And just wait for karma. Because it will happen. Just sit back and live.. I have never believed revenge works, added another.
‘Just shows emotional immaturity. Let him go! He did you a favour,’ said another.
Thousands of people identified with her story and the short clip has been seen by more than 89,000 people.
