The Match Point actress has been married twice before: to Ryan Reynolds from 2008 until 2011 (he is now wed to Blake Lively).

And to French journalist Romain Dauriac from 2014 until 2017. Together they share daughter Rose Dorothy Dauriac, aged six.

This is a first marriage for Jost who has been a Weekend Update co-anchor on SNL since 2014.

The wedding announcement comes after Jost had an unusual request for his nuptials.

The host joked to Ellen DeGeneres that he wanted his co-star Michael Che to object during the wedding ceremony – for the sake of comedy, of course.

The funny-guy thought stopping the ceremony would be a much better moment for his Weekend Update colleague to speak out during the celebration, rather than waiting for the traditional speeches at their reception.

He said: ‘What I really want for Che is, I want him to do an objection at the wedding.

‘You know, a lot of people do speeches, but I think it would be nice in that moment, so few people utilize that moment to object,’ he joked before adding, ‘I think he could do a really great objection.’

Che might actually be on board to cause a ruckus at Scarlett and Colin’s wedding too.

Shortly before Jost’s appearance on Ellen, Michael Che himself sat down with the 72-year-old host and joked that if he scored an invite to the engaged couple’s soiree, trouble would ensue.

‘I hope so, not if they want it to go over smoothly,’ Che quipped. ‘But if not, I would love to go and just disrupt everything, you know.’

He jokingly added: ‘I think they’ll let me in because they feel like they have to. And I think that’s going to be a big mistake.’

Colin and Scarlett started dating in 2017, but the couple first crossed paths in 2006, when he was a writer on SNL, and she was hosting the show.

Plans for their wedding day was thrown into chaos in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

‘This is not the time to get all your elderly, at-risk relatives together in one big group,’ Jost recently told Andy Cohen. ‘I don’t know when that moment will be.’

During his appearance on Ellen, the A Very Punchable Face author addressed rumors he is planning to leave SNL, insisting he doesn’t have a ‘timeline’ in mind, and for the moment, he’s just grateful to be working.

He said: ‘I don’t have a real timeline. I just mean, like I started to potentially psychologically brace for the concept of leaving, which I hadn’t really done. Certainly quarantine makes you appreciate having any job.’

Meanwhile, Colin previously admitted he was ‘so scared’ of marriage before getting engaged to the Hollywood actress.

He said: ‘I’m getting married and it’s such a crazy thing. I was so scared of marriage for so long because every time I talked to someone who just got married, or was about to get married, is like, ‘Oh my God, you got to do it … What could go wrong?’ Then you talk to someone who’s been married for five years, and they’re like, ‘Don’t rush into it … you have your whole life ahead of you.’

The wedding news comes on the same day that Scarlett appeared on the cover of Marie Claire magazine to promote Black Widow.

She stressed the importance of being able to ’empathize’ with her versatile characters.

Scarlett added: ‘I look for women who I feel I can relate to on some level, that I have empathy for. That’s a bit complicated, obviously, because you can have empathy for people in different ways, and for different reasons.

‘But if I can empathize with a character, no matter what their moral compass is, then that’s important to me.’

For the cover shoot, the blonde beauty stunned in a white off-shoulder dress, which was styled with a slick of deep red lipstick.
