Dozens of school children have been rushed to hospital after a school bus collided with a truck.

Emergency services were called to the crash site at Eynesbury, outside of Exford, west of Melbourne’s CBD, at 3:43pm on Tuesday. 

The collision caused the bus to roll on its side.

Up to 45 children were on the bus at the time. 

Six were briefly trapped onboard but have since been freed, according to Country Fire Authority (CFA).

Multiple school children have been rushed to hospital, with a number treated by paramedics at the scene. 

Parents are arriving at the crash site.  

An air ambulance has been called.
