Schoolies Australia is Pornhub’s top trending term as teenagers party at Gold Coast, Byron Bay

A worrying trend has emerged on the world’s most watched porn site as searches for videos featuring Schoolies teenagers skyrocket.

The top trending term on Pornhub recently became ‘Schoolies Australia’ as thousands of teenagers celebrate the end of 13 years of school by partying at places like Byron Bay, the Gold Coast and Lorne.

The trend was spotted by a TikTok user on Monday, who urged ‘men to do better’.

The user blasted anyone searching for Schoolies videos as ‘seriously disgusting’ given most teenagers celebrating their high school graduation are 17 or only just 18.

The site states in its conditions for users to post material that every individual in a video must have ‘government photo identification demonstrating that they are at least 18 years of age’.

The user said they were ‘so thankful you now have to be verified to post’ on Pornhub and hoped the verification meant no videos of underage Schoolies teens were on the platform.

Pornhub, which is the world’s biggest pornography site, has been dogged by accusations it features sexually explicit videos of underage subjects.

The site’s parent company Mindgeek is currently facing legal action in California over its alleged distribution of child sex abuse images.

The controversy caused Instagram in September to remove Pornhub’s account on the social media platform, which had 13.1million followers and more than 6200 posts but did not show explicit images.

Payment giants Mastercard and Visa also cut ties with Pornhub’s major advertiser, although Visa still faces US charges that it has aided in the distribution of child sex abuse images.

The controversy comes as thousands of Schoolies teens kick off their second week of celebrating at hubs across Australia.

Last week, a vile Schoolies checklist aimed at teenage partygoers emerged online causing outrage and worry amongst parents.

It outlined 10 challenges for boys attending, including a variety of explicit sex acts, sexual assault and drug use.

The first item on the list was to ‘do a line on a chicks ass’.

Doing a line is a reference to snorting cocaine or amphetamines.

It was also revealed on Monday that youngsters claim they were being offered free drugs on the streets and at the party venues on the Gold Coast.

‘Some bloke came up to me and said “do you want some caps (MDMA)”,’ one school leaver told Seven News.

‘He looked pretty hammered. He’s handed them to me and I’ve just hung onto them until the end of the night and then threw them out.’

His friend added: ‘No, no drugs for me. Not at all.’

One group claimed drugs were offered everywhere, including at least twice in a few days at the beach party.

‘Anywhere from the hotel to the clubs, the street, the bathrooms and the beach party,’ they said.

Queensland Police said they hadn’t received any reports about drugs inside the official Schoolies beach precinct.

Police and local business owners said this year’s Schoolies were generally well-behaved compared to previous years as celebrations enter a second week.

Police made 165 arrests during the first week of celebrations, where less than a third were Schoolies.

Hand-held metal detecting wands scanned 918 revellers which resulted in 32 arrests, mostly for bail offences and drug possession.

More than 25,000 Schoolies will descend on the Gold Coast alone this year during the three-week celebrations.

Around 18,000 school leavers attended the Surfers Paradise hub in week one with the vast majority from Queensland.

The party hub welcomed its second batch of school leavers from NSW and Victoria on the weekend.

Thousands of other school leavers headed to Byron Bay, the Sunshine Coast, Airlie Beach and Lorne and even further afield to Fiji and Bali.
