Schoolies hit beach for nighttime dip on Gold Coast

Another night of wild parties for Schoolies has began for the second week of the annual end of exam celebrations.

Thousands of teenagers have been spotted hitting the waves for a nigh time dip while the popular Gold Coast strip fires up with crazy antics once again.

Feather boas, short shorts and revealing tops were some of the popular outfits for the school leavers making the most of the summery Queensland night.

Saturday marked the first night for many NSW and Victorian Schoolies arriving in the sunshine state to kick off their celebrations.

Huge groups of teenagers made their way down to the sandy shores as the sun set on Saturday for a pre-party dip.

Officially the Queensland Schoolies finished their party week on Thursday, making room for the abundance of interstate party goers expected to hit the coast during the month-long party season at the Gold Coast.

Despite this year’s group of Schoolies doubling the number of arrests that were made the same time last year, it appears the interstate school leavers weren’t caught getting too raucous for the first night of their celebrations.

Many of the Schoolies were spotted strolling along the beach front in towels and minimalist outfits to account for the warm north weather.

While some party-goers appeared to be well-dressed for the tropical party season, donning long shirts and even heavy jackets.

Schoolies celebrations continue for the next couple of weeks as more school leavers are expected to flock to the popular destination.
