Scott Cam calls Shaynna Blaze a ‘good friend’

He shocked viewers earlier this month when he called  judge Shaynna Blaze a ‘b****’.

But Scott Cam has apologised profusely since and on Sunday’s series finale of The Block he made a point of reminding contestants of his respect for her.

At the final meeting with contestants, the 54-year-old said: ‘I suggest that you listen very carefully to what she has to say today, because it may make a very big difference at the auction tomorrow.’

‘Sitting beside me is my good friend and your judge Shaynna Blaze,’ Scott began the briefing.

‘I know over the past 12 weeks some of you have had issues with some of Shaynna’s comments and scores.’

‘I’m here to tell you today that Shaynna has always looked after your best interests… I suggest that you listen very carefully to what she has to say today, because it may make a very big difference at the auction tomorrow.’

Shaynna looked happy with Scott’s heartfelt remarks.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia last week, Scott was remorseful for his earlier derogatory comments about the designer.

‘I’ve called Shaynna today and whilst my comments were said in jest I do regret saying that because it’s disrespectful and not how I feel about Shaynna at all,’ he said.

‘I respect Shaynna enormously and the fact is that as judges, Shaynna, Neale & Darren have a tough job of critiquing rooms/spaces and someone will often feel hard done by if they don’t receive the scores they are hoping for.’

Scott’s shock comment came following Shaynna’s scoring at the final room reveal.

Since then he has claimed that the two have been good friends for years and there has and was never any hostility between them.
