Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison is finally packing up his family’s belongings and moving out of Australia’s official residence Kirribilli House – almost two weeks after losing the election.
On Friday morning, two bright orange Allied removal trucks arrived to take the ex-PM’s belongings back to their family home in Port Hacking in Sydney’s south.
Mr Morrison was dubbed Squat Morrison after he stubbornly remained at Kirribilli House with his wife Jenny and daughters Abbey and Lily despite the Labor election victory on May 21.

New PM Anthony Albanese had to meet government officials at his own Marrickville home while he waited for Mr Morrison to move out.
Yesterday the satirical TV comedians on The Chaser posted a mock eviction notice on the gates of the harbourside home in a bid to kick Mr Morrison out.
And on Friday morning, removal trucks finally rolled into the driveway to load up the Morrison’s family possessions.
The packers could be seen loading boxes of personal belongings, including the ping-pong table where the former PM took on Nine’s Karl Stefanovic.

Other boxes contained bookshelves-worth of books headed for Mr Morrison’s electorate office, while tasteful wicker garden furniture was also spotted being loaded aboard the trucks

A delivery schedule in the window of one of the trucks revealed much of the load would be dropped off at a storage facility in Caringbah.
His exit 13 days after the election means John Howard is still the ex-PM to remain the longest in Kirribilli House after losing an election. He stayed on for 16 days after Kevin Rudd swept to power in 2007.

The couple said goodbye to a painter who began renovations of the three-bedroom house on Wednesday, and hauled boxes of belongings inside and stacked more in their garage.

Since he was freed from the fashion fixation of high office, trending into ‘daggy dad’ gear and even cool threads with his favourite Sharks baseball cap.
On Thursday he rugged up in an oversized grey hoodie teamed with tan chinos, and white Vans sneakers.

But on Friday morning, he was out of sight of cameras as he supervised the removalists packing up.
Mr Morrison’s press contact said the former PM was entitled to two weeks transition time to pack up and leave Kirribilli House, despite no one but Mr Howard ever taking even half that long.
They added: ‘[Mr Morrison is] in the process of moving out. There’s two weeks you have to move out, that’s protocol. So there’s no delay.’
