‘Twisted and Pull,’ the 29-year-old captioned the post.
Pendlebury broke the finger against the Suns in July, and initially was only supposed to miss a few matches as doctors attempted to place a temporary screw in the finger.
During the operation, the pin shattered the bone it was attempting to heal into ’15 bits.’
‘The x-ray showed two clean breaks. They went in and the surgeon just said the bone was shattered, so we had to piece 15 bits back together,’ the Collingwood star told Triple M.
‘We didn’t get it right. The screw that went through the bone broke that bone. It didn’t go well.’
Pendlebury’s extremity can be seen badly bruised and cracked in the footage as the doctor removes the wire.
The pins appear to be about five centimetres in length.
