Scottie Scheffler broke yet more new ground on Sunday as he set another single-season PGA Tour earnings record with victory at the Memorial Tournament.
The world No 1 has enjoyed a remarkable start to the 2024 season, with wins coming at both The Masters and The Players Championship.
Scheffler raised the bar in both 2022 ($14,046,910) and 2023 ($21,014,342). He has now won five of his past eight tournaments – including the RBC Heritage and Arnold Palmer Invitational.
He has finished lower than T10 only once all season, despite the 27-year-old also becoming a father and getting arrested in remarkable scenes at the PGA Championship.
Scheffler pocketed another $4million with his win at the Memorial, taking his total for the year to $24,024,553.

That is more than he made ($21,014,342) during the entirety of 2023. It is also more than double the next highest earner, Xander Schauffele ($11,597,071).
The likes of Rory McIlroy ($7,712,665) and Collin Morikawa ($6,757,882), his closest challenger at Muirfield Village, have earned less than a third of Scheffler’s 2024 total.
Incredibly, given he remains just 27, the world No 1 has now climbed from ninth to seventh on the PGA Tour’s all-time money list, with his career earnings totaling $66,589,782.
On Sunday, Scheffler was greeted on the 18th green by his wife Meredith and their baby son Bennett, after the world No 1 recorded his first victory since becoming a father.
In emotional scenes, Meredith handed Bennett to Scheffler and said: ‘We are so proud of you! So proud of you! Say ‘way to go Daddy, I love you!’. I’m so proud of you!’
The world No 1’s family were waiting for him as he secured a one-shot victory over Morikawa, despite shooting a two-over par round of 74 on Sunday.
It was the first tournament Scheffler has won since becoming a father and also the first since police charges were dropped following his shock arrest at the PGA Championship in May.
