Hunt for man who allegedly dragged a woman, 22, into an alley and sexually assaulted her while she was trying to get home from a party

- The 22-year-old woman was able to break free and report the alleged incident

A search is underway for a man who sexually assaulted a young woman on her way home from a party.
The 22-year-old woman left the party and was walking along on Brunswick Street in Victoria about 1.45am on December 8 when a white 2002-2004 Hyundai Getz hatchback pulled up next to her.
A man got out of the car and the pair spoke for a while before he allegedly pulled her towards Westgarth Street and sexually assaulted her.

The woman was able to breakfree from the man’s grasp and escape before raising the alarm.
Victoria Police have released images of the vehicle and the man they wish to speak to related to the incident.
He is described as Indian in appearance with a slim build and a beard.
He was wearing a dark green jacket, grey hoodie, blue denim jeans and a long red beanie.
