Search for missing Melbourne woman after she went kayaking

  • Kylie Phillips, 44, went missing on Thursday afternoon after going kayaking 
  • Ms Phillips’ car was found at Canadian Bay Yacht Club in Victoria on Thursday  
  • Blue Holden Viva station wagon, registration ULP 346, found in carpark
  • Described as about 170cm tall, slim build, shoulder-length brown or red hair

Police are appealing for public assistance in their search for missing Victorian woman Kylie Phillips, 44, who is believed to have gone kayaking on Thursday.

Ms Phillips’ car was located at the Canadian Bay Yacht Club, on the Mornington Peninsula, yesterday, but police believe the car may have been there since Wednesday.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have seen a blue Holden Viva station wagon, registration ULP 346, in the vicinity of the yacht club on Wednesday afternoon to come forward.

Ms Phillips is a Mount Eliza local who is believed to have taken her green kayak out on the water.

Air and water searches have been called off on Friday evening to resume on Saturday morning. 

Ms Phillips is described as being about 170cm tall, with a slim build, and shoulder-length wavy brown or red hair.

Anyone who sights or may have seen her in a green kayak in the Canadian Bay area is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
