Selena Gomez’s engagement ring from Benny Blanco sparked a humorous reaction from Martin Short at the Golden Globes last night.
Video of the moment, posted by E! News to X, showed Short, 74, pretending to pull the glittering ring off her finger after Selena first presented her hand to him.
After several playful yanks, he proceeded to proudly admire the marquise ring.
Though the conversation was not audible, Selena appeared to be breaking down the details of the accessory for him.
Selena’s fiance Benny was not seen in the video however he was her date that evening.
The singer and actress and record producer have been romantically linked since June 2023.

Gomez announced that they were engaged back in December, though it’s unclear when the couple plan on tying the knot.
The actress was at the Golden Globes for her dual nominations for Netflix’s Emilia Perez and Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building.
The couple was not sparred when host Nikki Glaser kicked off the ceremony with the usual round of jokes.
During her opening monologue, the 40-year-old Glaser poked some fun at the newly-engaged couple.
‘A double nominee tonight for Emelia Perez and Only Murders, and she’s here with her new fiance, Benny Blanco. And Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish,’ Glazer said as Gomez and Blanco both awkwardly laughed.
Blanco then gave her a kiss on her bare shoulder before Glazer added, ‘Man, lucky guy,’ as she proceeded to poke fun at movie.
‘I love you. Selena, you are so good in Emilia Perez. I loved it so much. Emilia Perez, yes. Emilia Perez earned ten nominations for Netflix, and I loved it. I think it is without a doubt the most audacious, groundbreaking film to ever autoplay after Is it Cake,’ Glazer joked.
Later that evening Selena and Benny attended Netflix’s Golden Globe Afterparty 2025 at Spago in Beverly Hills, where they were joined by Nicole Avant, and Co-CEO of Netflix Ted Sarandos.
As Selena held out her hand for him, Short, 74, fiddled around with the glittering diamond accessory.

Selena change into her second outfit of the night, opting for an oversized satin blazer with a black bandeau dress.
She added a pop of colour with a slick of red lipstick and styled her hair into classy Old Hollywood style waves.
Earlier in the evening for the ceremony, the actress wore a baby blue gown, by Prada, that featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and Cinderella skirt.
Meanwhile, Benny wore a white suit with an embellished sweater layered underneath.
