Selling Sunset’s Mary Fitzgerald, 39, is hesitant to have a baby with husband Romain Bonnet, 27

Selling Sunset star Mary Fitzgerald, 39, has admitted she is hesitant to have a child with husband Romain Bonnet, 27.

Season three of the Netflix show saw the couple broach the subject on whether they want children, yet the conversation is ongoing.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Mary – who is already a mother to a son called Austin, 22, from a previous relationship – confessed: ‘If it’s up to me? No. But I’m not the only one in this relationship.’

Revealing that Romain has expressed his desire to become a father, Mary said: ‘I think Selling Sunset viewers took it the wrong way when were filmed having argument about about having another kid.

‘Everyone thought that I wanted to right away because my age, but I’m the opposite! Romain is the one that wants to have kids and and I’m like “I love you, so I’ll consider it.”‘

In order to allow the couple more time to make a decision, Mary revealed that she has had her fertility tested and plans to freeze her eggs once she has the time.

She explained: ‘It’s something I am planning to do like very soon, so hopefully people will be able to see that in season four.’

One thing that the couple are in full agreement in, however, is that if they do have any children, it won’t be anytime soon.

‘I just think it’s it’s unfair to bring a child into the world right now,’ Mary reasoned. ‘Given how busy we both are, we barely see each other. It just wouldn’t be the right time.

‘We might do it within the next couple years… but If it’s up to me? No! But I’m not the only one in this relationship.’

Selling Sunset viewers saw Mary’s relationship with Romain come under question when Chrishell Stause questioned their 12 year age gap and if the French model was relying on Mary financially.

Brushing off the comments, Mary said: ‘I really don’t see the age difference that much!

‘I think what played on my mind more than anything is the conflict between Roman and Davina.’

As fans will remember, tensions ran high on the show when Romain banned Davina Portraz from attending their wedding after she criticised the engagement ring he had bought for Mary.

Hurt at being the only member of The Oppenheim Group not invited to the big day, Davina and Christine Quinn lashed out at Mary for not overturning the ban.

Reflecting on the drama caused by the decision, Mary exclaimed: ‘It just never died!

‘The conflict that it caused me in work with my coworkers and then with him… I was just trying to do what was right and be a mediator and not ruffle feathers.

‘But I also have to stand by my man. So I mean that caused some some difficulty for sure. To put it lightly!’

Mary has been using the lessons learned from all the drama to give advice to co-star Heather Rae Young, who is planning her own wedding to Flip or Flop star Tarek El Moussa.

‘Heather and I have talked about their big day’, Mary revealed. ‘They are the cutest couple ever and they are just so happy.

‘They are following along with my advice, which is just do what’s right for you.  Don’t listen to what other people say. Don’t be pressured by what other people want.

‘It’s their day and their special moment and they just need to do what’s right, whether it’s filmed or not filmed, who’s invited and who’s not.’

Mary and Romain first met in 2017, with their wedding – and all the drama building up to it – televised in season two of Selling Sunset.

However, it later emerged that the couple were already legally married before filming, with their marriage license and the certificate of marriage showing they were married at a Ventura courthouse on March 9, 2018.

Mary later clarified that although the pair had legally wed, they had done so ‘personal reasons’, and they considered their lavish televised ceremony to be their official wedding day.

The couple have yet to go on their honeymoon with the coronavirus pandemic scuppering their plans for a break Bali, so they have been enjoying newlywed life at their home in Los Angeles.

Mary is also keeping busy as one of many Hollywood stars who work with Thrillz, a site that allows fans to commission personalised video messages from celebrities.

Speaking about her work with the platform, Mary enthused: ‘I think it’s fun to be able to interact with with fans.

‘Anytime I get a chance to do something like that I think it’s great. If it’s something that makes them happy. I love it.’

Revealing that her celebrity status still hasn’t sunk in, she added : ‘It’s insane that I have fans!’
