The semi-naked women pictured in a hotel room with Wayne Rooney are a Snapchat model and her two friends, it has emerged – as the former England football star complained to police he was ‘set up’ after social media was flooded with images of their night-out.
Ex-Manchester United ace Rooney, who is married to Coleen and has four sons with his childhood sweetheart, reportedly partied into the early hours of Sunday with model Tayler Ryan and her friends Elise Melvin and Brooke Morgan, all 21, according to the Sun newspaper.
Friends of the three girls told the Sun that Rooney, 35, and his friends had invited Tayler, Elise and Brooke to his VIP booth at the exclusive Chinawhite club for ‘probably the wildest night of their lives’. They said: There was no sexual contact – it was just a great night.’
Photos on social media show the retired England striker asleep in a chair as the girls stripped to their underwear at their £60-per-night hotel room in Manchester last night, with one flashing her bottom next to Rooney then posting it with the caption: ‘Mooney Rooney’.
Another photo which went viral on Sunday saw Rooney leaning in on one blonde woman at a nightclub. The Derby FC manager was said to be angry that they had taken photos of him asleep and complained to Greater Manchester Police amid fears he had been ‘set up’.
MailOnline understands the images were taken last night, on the first weekend that nightclubs in England were allowed to open in more than 15 months due to lockdown restrictions imposed during the pandemic. There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing on Rooney’s part.
Tayler posted photos of her sitting with Rooney on a couch to her 13,000 Instagram followers. One image shows Rooney wearing a black hoodie and jeans and waving his arm in the air while holding a glass of wine. After Rooney fell asleep, the girls started to play pranks.
One of the images shows one of the girls posing in a G-string and baring her bottom next to Rooney’s head. Another shows one of the girls giving a peace sign next to Rooney while the other lies on the bed in her underwear with the caption ‘Sleepy Wayne’.
Rooney then reportedly left the Staycity complex ‘angry’ after he woke up.
The friend said: ‘They were all having fun dancing around with Wayne and his mates and posting about it on Snapchat but they couldn’t stop laughing when he passed out. They decided to have some fun.’
It is understood that Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation after Rooney’s lawyers made a complaint. Though his legal team would not confirm what complaint was made, it is understood that the former England star fears he has been ‘set up’.

Rooney was out partying hours after Derby lost 2-1 away to Salford in a pre-season friendly, the Sun reports.
MailOnline have approached Greater Manchester Police for further information. Rooney’s representatives and Derby County Football Club declined to comment.
Rooney is currently busy preparing his Derby side for the new Championship season, which kicks off in a fortnight’s time.
But he faces a significant challenge ahead of his first game, against Huddersfield, because the team currently nine registered senior players – two of which are goalkeepers.
Just yesterday he vowed he will not walk away as manager, but warned the club it would be ‘impossible’ for him to field a team for the start of the new Sky Bet Championship season without significant signings.

The midlands club are currently under a transfer embargo, preventing them from signing players, after failing to provide financial records from previous years.
But earlier this week after the EFL altered its rules due to ‘exceptional circumstances’ caused by the club’s coronavirus outbreak last season.

Rooney is England’s record goalscorer, netting 53 in 119 appearances for the Three Lions. The forward spent much of club career with Manchester United, where he scored 183 goals in 393 appearances.
Rooney also won 16 trophies at Untied, where he moved, aged 18, after completing a £25million move from his boyhood club Everton. He also earned a host of personal accolades, including the 2009-10 PFA Player of the Season award and five Premier League Player of the Month awards.
