Serena William hints she might turn up at Meghan Markle’s royal wedding

When it comes to deciding whether to beat her sister on the tennis court or giving birth, it’s clear which one Serena Williams thinks is harder.

‘Oh my gosh, this is the one time I’ll take beating my sister,’ Serena said with a laugh during an appearance on the TODAY Show on Monday.

‘Birth is definitely not easy.’

Serena, 36, didn’t have the smoothest delivery with her first daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr in September.

The tennis champion, who had to undergo an emergency c-section, developed multiple blood clots after the delivery and nearly died from complications.

But fast-forward seven months later and the tennis superstar is enjoying life as a newlywed and new mother.

‘I’ve always wanted to be a mom and I’ve always wanted to be married and it all kind of happened at once,’ she said.

Serena, who wed Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian two months after giving birth, revealed the couple call their daughter ‘Olympia’ or ‘Junior’.

‘I just light up and it’s so great, I love her so much,’ Serena said of her daughter. ‘I love that she’s a “Junior”, she’s named after Alexis Senior.’

Serena also called 2017 the ‘biggest, most insane year of my life’.

In the span of 12 months the legendary athlete became engaged, won the Australian Open when she was eight weeks pregnant, moved to San Francisco, got married, and gave birth.

‘It worked out for me,’ she said. ‘I have two amazing additions to my family and it feels like they should have always been there.’

Now the Olympian is gearing up for the premiere of Being Serena, a new docuseries on HBO that starts on Wednesday.

The series follows Serena’s journey through pregnancy and the beginning of motherhood and documents her return to the tennis court after giving birth.

It also includes plenty of footage from her childhood that has never been seen before.

Serena said that series ‘happened organically’ after she discovered tapes her father had taken of her and their family through the years.

‘My dad had all this footage of me and my sisters and my family,’ she said.

‘I was enjoying looking back at when I was younger, and I wanted to do that for Olympia.’

The champion, who hinted that she will ‘maybe’ attend Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding, also has no plans on slowing down when it comes to tennis.

While she has said in the past that 25 Grand Slam titles is her goal, Serena (who has already won 23) now says she doesn’t want to limit herself.

‘Why stop there?’ she asked with a laugh.
