Serena Williams develops anxiety in coronavirus quarantine as she tells fans: ‘Every sneeze makes me crazy’
Serena Williams is suffering from heightened anxiety after entering self-imposed quarantine amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
In the string of TikTok videos the tennis superstar spoke honestly about her mental health struggles.
‘By anxiety, I mean, like, I’m just on edge any time anyone sneezes around me or coughs I get crazy. And I don’t hang out with anyone. So when I say anyone I mean my daughter.’

Technicolor: As the clips progressed, Serena changed into a variety of colorful skirts and several wigs, while speaking openly and honestly about her mental health struggles
Williams shares her two-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia with husband and Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian, who she married in 2017.
‘[Olympia] coughed, and I got angry. I gave her a side-eye. I gave her that ‘angry Serena,’ and then I got sad. I was like, “Is she OK? Is there something wrong with my daughter? Like, is there anything I can do?”‘
The 23-time grand slam singles champion admitted that she does not ‘know what to do, so instead of being relaxed’ she has placed herself ‘under a ton of stress.’

‘I never expected to be relaxed but it is what it is and we’ll get through this, we have to,’ said Serena. ‘I just wanted to update you on what I was doing.’
Nearly a week prior to her candid TikToks, Williams took to her Instagram page to briefly speak to her 12.2million followers about what she planned to accomplish during quarantine.
‘Spending the next 6 weeks in solitude. Being a wife. Being a mom. Cooking. Cleaning. Spring cleaning. Face mask. Makeup tutorials. I’ll let you know how it goes…..’
In the brief video clip, the athlete can be seen having her makeup applied by a makeup artist as she sits idly in a chair.
‘Stay safe everyone. This is serious,’ she concluded.
