Sergio Aguero celebrates Man City win over Chelsea son Benjamin

Sergio Aguero was unable to net his 200th Manchester City goal on Sunday but he still had cause to celebrate after featuring in a 1-0 win over Chelsea.

Sunday’s victory moved City to within just four wins of guaranteeing their third Premier League title and Aguero rounded off the weekend by taking his son Benjamin out to dinner at a restaurant in Cheshire.

Aguero was also joined by a group of friends, one of whom was seen holding a carrier bag from the City club shop.

Nine-year-old Benjamin is the grandson of Diego Maradona as he was born to the legendary footballer’s daughter Gianinna in 2009.

He joined his dad on the Wembley turf last month to celebrate City’s victory over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final.

And back in November Benjamin was gifted the shirt his famous father wore while hitting his 178th City goal to become the club’s all-time record scorer.

Speaking after scoring that record-breaking goal in City’s 4-2 win over Napoli, Aguero said: ‘This shirt is for my son, he texted me to say: “As soon as you score, bring me the shirt”.

‘I am bringing the shirt back to my son. My family called from Argentina, they were watching me.’

Aguero will hope to hit the 200-goal mark for City on Wednesday when Basle visit the Etihad Stadium for the second leg of their last-16 tie.

City lead 4-0 from a first leg which saw Aguero score his side’s third goal, adding to earlier strikes by Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan, who netted twice on the night.
