He was sat in the same area as Salah, with the Egyptian forward also up for an award. He was nominated for best player, but lost to Luka Modric.

Whether intentional or not, Salah did not react to the touch, and continued to ignore the player who left him in tears in Kiev last season

The Real Madrid controversially injured the Egyptian star, which outraged Liverpool fans across the world as Salah ttrudged off the pitch.

Salah and Ramos locked arms when fighting for the ball when Ramos appeared to drag the forward down to the ground. The Liverpool star did manage to play on after the injury but was eventually substituted off by Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool went onto to lose the Champions League final 3-1 in May after Karius made two mistakes to allow Cristiano Ronaldo and co win the title for a third time in a row.

Earlier both players had arrived at the plush ceremony in Monaco via helicopter for the draw.

Both men cut stylish figures at the ceremony, Ramos in a blue tartan three-piece suit, while Salah wore a navy tuxedo complete with bow tie.
