A man who shocked Katy Perry when he stormed on stage and accosted her during her Sydney concert on Sunday night has been charged.

NSW Police have confirmed the mega fan was arrested after the incident and taken to Auburn police station.

He was then charged with two offences – entering enclosed land and obstructing a person in performance of work or duties.

The man, identified by News Corp as Johnson Wen, was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on June 23.

Wen was also issued with a notice barring him from entering the Sydney Olympic Park Precinct for six months.

It wasn’t Wen’s first performance, with the rogue fan also storming the stage during the Canadian singer The Weeknd’s Melbourne show last year.

He even spoke to 7News at the time about his antics, admitting he had been planning his cameo for months.

‘(There) was way too many security guards, it looked like it was impossible to get through,’ he said.

‘Somehow I just managed to find a small gap in my section and as soon as I was ready to run on the stage, I ran through that small gap and then I jumped up.’

He added: ‘I was extremely happy and as soon as I got to The Weeknd I knew that my plan worked.’

One user on Reddit also claimed Wen rushed the stage during a recent Sydney show of EDM duo The Chainsmokers.

‘That’s the same guy who jumped The Weeknd (concert), The Chainsmokers and other artists/public events,’ the internet sleuth claimed.

Yet another claimed that the stage invader does not limit his antics to concerts.

He has a history of this,’ they wrote.

‘Looks like he did the same to The Weeknd last year, and ran onto the pitch at multiple cricket matches during the World Cup to harass Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma.’

News Corp confirmed on Tuesday that Wen, whose Instagram bio reads ‘troll most hated’, does have form when it comes to unauthosised appearances.

In 2020, he received a $250 fine for dangling from a Brisbane footbridge and also received a $220 fine for a pitch invasion at a 2021 rugby union match.

The 40-year-old pop star appeared concerned and displeased, but continued the performance briefly before addressing the crowd.

‘There’s never going to be another show like this, so just enjoy it,’ she said into the microphone.

Security rushed on stage and tackled Wen, who was enthusiastically dancing alongside the pop princess.

Some in the audience praised Katy's 'professional' response on Sunday night, with the singer saying to the crowd that it had been 'an eventful 20 minutes' before carrying on with the show as scheduled
