Seth Rogen clarifies that Emma Watson DID NOT walk off the set of This Is The End

After making headlines for addressing a rumor about Emma Watson on the set of their 2013 movie This Is the End, Seth Rogen is clarifying the ordeal.

The 38-year-old actor and filmmaker was asked about Watson reportedly ‘storming off the set’ after disputing a scene involving Danny McBride as a cannibal and Channing Tatum as a ‘gimp’ which she didn’t want to be in.

Rogen took to Twitter on Monday to clarify matters, making it clear that Watson, 30, did speak up about doing the scene, but she did NOT storm off the set.

Clarifying: After making headlines for addressing a rumor about Emma Watson on the set of their 2013 movie This Is the End, Seth Rogen is clarifying the ordeal

‘I want to correct a story that has emerged from a recent interview I gave. It misrepresents what actually happened. Emma Watson did not ‘storm off the set’ and it’s sh****y that the perception is that she did,’ Rogen began.

‘The scene was not what was originally scripted, it was getting improvised, changed drastically and was not what she agreed to. The narrative that she was in some way uncool or unprofessional is complete bull***t,’ he added.

‘I for sure should have communicated better and because I didn’t, she was put in an uncomfortable position,’ Rogen continued.

He added that they spoke on the night of filming the scene, adding, ‘it was overall a sh***y situation and it must have been hard for her to say something and I’m very happy and impressed that she did. We agreed on her not being in the scene together.’

‘I was thrilled for the opportunity to work with her and would be thrilled to get that opportunity again. I am very sorry and disappointed it happened, and I wish I had done more to prevent it,’ he concluded.

This Is the End, which marked the directing debut for both Rogen and his collaborator Evan Goldberg, was set at a party at James Franco’s house, with Rogen, Franco and the slew of other celebs playing heightened versions of themselves.

During the party, an apocalyptic attack takes place, as the stars fortified themselves at Franco’s house, with Watson returning to the home after the original attack.

She ultimately took off with their supplies after hearing a conversation that got out of hand, and she wasn’t seen again.

Towards the end of the film, Rogen, Franco and Jay Baruchel encounter Danny McBride, who has become the leader of an apocalyptic cannibal gang, and it seems Watson was originally going to be a part of that scene.

In the original interview with GQ UK, Rogen added that Watson, ‘came back the next day to say goodbye’ and that she, ‘helped promote the film.

‘No hard feelings and I couldn’t be happier with how the film turned out in the end. She was probably right. It was probably funnier the way we ended up doing it,’ he said.

This Is The End earned strong reviews from critics (83% on Rotten Tomatoes) and it was a modest hit at the box office earning $126 million worldwide from a $32 million budget.
