Seven people in hospital after ferry collides with yacht

Seven people have been rushed to hospital after a collision involving Sydney ferry and a yacht in Sydney Harbour on Saturday afternoon.

The ferry was travelling between Manly and Circular Quay when it collided with a yacht, snapping the mast and damaging the stern on one side.

Two people had to pulled from the water by emergency services just after 2.30pm.

Seven passengers including a 76-year-old man suffering chest pains and two with only minor injuries are receiving medical attention, according to local police.

Despite the crash, the ferry continued onto Circular Quay and let passengers disembark at Wharf Three.

A police spokesperson said an investigation into the accident is underway.
