Seven star and TV vet Dr Chris Brown reveals how he leapt into action to help pregnant woman going into labour on a plane

He’s one of the Seven Network’s biggest new stars, after rising to fame as a TV vet.

But Dr. Chris Brown has revealed how he was once thrown into the middle of a very human medical emergency during a plane trip between Sydney and Brisbane.

The drama occurred in mid-flight when Chris, 45, was called upon to help a pregnant passenger who was in deep distress.  

‘They did the thing (call) for a doctor, and I couldn’t resist,’ he said during an appearance on he Hit Network’s Carrie and Tom show on Wednesday.

‘I was like, ”I’m happy to have a chat at least and maybe my bedside manner might be able to help [her] through”.’

However, it turned out the heavily pregnant woman was panicked, so Chris went into action.

‘She was very close to giving birth and she had blood pressure issues,’ he told hosts Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little.

‘She was having sort of sweats, and I talked her through and diagnosed the problem.’

Chris added he was able to help relieve the woman’s distress and make her comfortable.

‘She was a little bit dehydrated. And so, we just got her to elevate her legs a little bit, we got her to calm down, we put her seat back, we just relaxed her. And then we brought it in for landing.’

It comes after the fan favourite recently opened up about his hopes of starting a family one day.

He said that after devoting the last ten years to his career, he still wants to become a dad.

‘I still feel that’s very much a priority. Would I like to have done something about that in the last five years? Probably,’ he said in an interview with Stellar earlier this month.

Chris, who will soon be seen on Seven’s new renovation show Dream Home, added that he did not want to ‘force things’ and end up in a ‘rushed’ situation.

‘I feel like it will happen when it happens,’ the former I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here host continued.

It comes after Chris jumped ship from Channel 10 and signed a two-year contract with Seven worth more than $1million a year.
