The Champions League was back with a bang on Tuesday night and there were goals galore across the continent.
Roma thrashed Chelsea at home, PSG plundered five against Anderlecht while tournament minnows Qarabag held Atletico Madrid.
While there were some eye-catching results, Sportsmail take a look at some things you may have missed from another round of European football…
Diego Perotti’s unusual affection for Stephan El Shaarawy
Diego Perotti had an unusual greeting for Roma goalscorer Stephan El Shaarawy on Tuesday
He decided to stick his fingers up his team-mates backside after his second goal
Stephan El Shaarawy’s grin was as wide as the river Tiber – and why shouldn’t it have been? He’d just doubled Roma’s lead against Chelsea at the Stadio Olimpico, and grabbed his second of the night in the process.
As he was mobbed by his team-mates he seemed to enjoy the attention, but perhaps some were getting a bit too close to the Italian?
As the 25-year-old high-fived and received congratulations, Diego Perotti – who would go on to score himself in the second-half – approached from behind and carefully placed his hand on his behind.
The Italian forward managed to see the funny side of his Argentine team-mate’s affections
What happened next certainly caught El Shaarawy’s attention. Perotti didn’t hold back and appeared to stick his fingers up the forward’s backside.
The incident lasted no longer than a couple of seconds, but enough time for it to feel more than a little uncomfortable for El Shaarawy.
He seemed unperturbed by it, and turned around grinning at his team-mate as he realised what was happening.
Chelsea’s shambolic defending
Chelsea’s defence was the benchmark of their stunning Premier League title win last season.
At the start of a 13-game winning streak that underpinned their success, Antonio Conte’s side racked up six clean sheets in a row with their three-man defence.
Such conviction at the back has been lacking so far in their title defence, and seeped into their European showings a fortnight ago when they allowed Roma to sneak a 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea’s back three were torn apart by Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday
Midway through the second-half all three decided to chase down Edin Dzeko
That left a big old space for Diego Perotti but he managed to blaze over when clean through
It came back with a vengeance at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday night, and brought one moment that should have been accompanied by Benny Hill music.
Edin Dzeko was sent streaking clear, with Roma already three-goals to the good, as Chelsea’s back three Antonio Rudgier, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta gave chase.
Remarkably, the Blues trio just kept on chasing him down. As they closed in on the Bosnian, he cut back and found Diego Perotti in the acres of space that the back three had vacated.
Disappointingly the Argentine blazed over, and we were prevented from seeing one of the worst goals ever conceded by an English team.
Kurzawa slow dances with a corner flag and makes history
Left-backs don’t often score. You can forgive them for getting carried away in the moment. Layvin Kurzawa certainly got more than carried away when he not only scored once, but twice.
As the Frenchman bundled PSG further ahead against Anderlecht, he mosied on over to the corner flag.
Nothing suspicious here, right? Until he begins to serenade the poor, innocent corner flag like it isn’t an inanimate object.
‘Stop, please! Make it stop!’ Eventually Kurzawa rejoined his team-mates and got on with the game.
But the 25-year-old clearly hadn’t had his fill of the fun, completing a surprise second-half hat-trick 12 minutes from time.
This time the flag was spared as he became the first defender to score a hat-trick in Champions League history.

The high boot endemic hits Europe
High boots have become a bone of contention this season ever since the sending off of Sadio Mane in September.
The Liverpool man saw red for a high foot planted on Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson’s chin that left him hospitalised.
It’s an incident that has never been far away from the headlines since, and re-emerged once again on Tuesday – this time in Madrid.
Pedro Henrique saw red for a kung-fu style tackle towards the face of Diego Godin
Qarabag held on despite the numerical disadvantage for a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid
Qarabag’s Pedro Henrique leapt for the ball against Atletico defender Diego Godin in the second-half at the Wanda Metropolitana.
While the Argentine, sensibly, went with his head, Henrique unleashed a bizarre kung-fu kick attempt to reach the ball first.
He promptly saw red, and looked visibly traumatised. But the Azerbaijani side still managed to walk away with an unlikely share of the spoils.

Parkhead lights up for the Lisbon Lions
There was a touching moment midway through Celtic’s clash with Bayern Munich as Parkhead was lit up by mobile phone torches on all four sides of the ground.
The moment, orchestrated to mark 40 years since the Scottish champions’ one and only European Cup success, was well captured by the TV cameras.
Though the atmosphere was fiery in Glasgow, Celtic could not hang on for a draw after Callum McGregor’s second-half equaliser.

Chelsea break England’s hold on Europe
So far for English clubs in Europe this season it had been a long overdue return to form.
The days of a decade ago when the Premier League reigned supreme on the continent had shown signs of life in the first three gameweeks of this season’s Champions League.
Chelsea went to Atletico Madrid and won, Tottenham produced a virtuoso display to beat Borussia Dortmund at home and then claimed a point at the Bernabeu.
But on Wednesday night its renaissance came crashing down. Roma smacked Chelsea 3-0 and a first defeat for English clubs in the Champions League of the new season.

Akinfeev’s unwanted record drags into another year
Eleven years ago the iPhone was a distant dream, Twitter was a new-fangled internet thing and Tony Blair was British prime minister.
It was also the last time Igor Akinfeev kept a clean sheet in the Champions League. It was November 1, 2006 and CSKA Moscow kept it goalless away at Arsenal.
On Tuesday night, Luca Zuffi beat Akinfeev to score the opener for Basle in Switzerland and Akinfeev conceded for the 43rd consecutive Champions League game in a row.
