Several missing after boat capsizes in Indonesia

JAKARTA, Jan 1, (Reuters) – Several people were missing after a speed boat carrying nearly 50 people sank off Indonesia´s Kalimantan island on Monday, rescue officials said.

The national rescue agency said in a statement that the number of casualties were unclear but that 28 people remained missing and 20 had been rescued.

The boat was on its way from Tanjung Selot to Tarakan on the Indonesian side of Borneo island, when it overturned and sank. It was not immediately clear what caused the accident.
