According to the Herald Sun, forensic officers were seen investigating around the toilet block located at the park.

The woman was taken to hospital for testing overnight but has since been released.

The park was closed to the public all night before it was reopened shortly before 7am Sunday.

At least four detectives have been seen questioning neighbours in houses surrounding the park, while a marked police car patrols the area.

Witnesses have reported seeing crime scene tents set up around the toilet block.

Ursula Valkanoff told the publication the news of the attack has made her feel vulnerable and scared.

‘I’m devastated as a woman myself. It angers me. It’s not fair.’

The assault comes after a slew of violent attacks on young women in parks or while in public in Melbourne.
