It’s often seen as a taboo subject.
But a new survey is finally lifting the lid on the sex lives of thousands of people around the world.
Researchers from Pour Moi have revealed the day and time of the week that couples are most likely to have sex.
Saturday is the favourite day for people to get intimate, with 22:09pm found to be the sexiest time of the week.
‘It is the weekend evenings that seem to be the most popular time for people to feel at their most relaxed and ready to enjoy time with their partner,’ said Marina Nicoli, Marketing Manager at Pour Moi.

For the survey, Pour Moi enlisted 2,000 adults from the UK, Ireland, USA and Canada, who were either in relationships, actively dating, or sexually active.
The participants were surveyed on the specific days and times they usually have sex, as well as how often they get frisky.
The results revealed that Saturday is the clear favourite day for people to get intimate, with 43 per cent of respondents saying this is their preferred day.
This was followed by Friday (22 per cent), Sunday (10 per cent), Thursday (six per cent), Wednesday (five per cent), Tuesday (four per cent), and Monday (two per cent).
Over a third of respondents said they prefer to have sex between 22:00 and 00:00, with 80 per cent agreeing that the ‘sweet spot’ is specifically 22:09
In terms of the specific time, late-night hours were found to dominate.
Over a third of respondents said they prefer to have sex between 22:00 and 00:00, with 80 per cent agreeing that the ‘sweet spot’ is specifically 22:09.
The second most popular window of time was between 20:00 and 22:00 (27 per cent).
In contrast, the early hours of the morning were the least sexy time of the week, with only four per cent of respondents choosing to have sex between 06:00 and 08:00.
‘Any time before 6:00 pm is generally considered to be the least raunchy time throughout the day, with the least sexy time of the week being revealed as 1:02 pm on Monday,’ Pour Moi explained.
‘So if you’re partial to a lunchtime bedroom pitstop to kick the week off, you’re among the more unique couples around the world.’
The survey also revealed how often people have sex.
Nearly half (48 per cent) of the respondents reported having sex once a week, while 19 per cent said they have sex twice a week.
Meanwhile, just one per cent of participants reported daily sexual activity.
‘When asked how often adults would like to have sex, it was revealed that twice a week is most people’s ideal amount of sex,’ Pour Moi added.
‘Interestingly, women between the ages of 25 and 45 have the highest drive for intimacy stating four times a week would be ideal, compared to twice a week for men in the same age group.’
