A sex therapist says she is the one responsible for giving Matt Lauer a bag of sex toys found by former Today co-host Meredith Vieira.
In a recently unearthed video from 2016, Lauer and Savannah Guthrie were guests on Vieira’s now-canceled talk show The Meredith Vieira Show, where the host chided her former colleague about discovering the adult items in Lauer’s dressing room closet.
Dr Laura Berman appeared on Inside Edition and confirmed Lauer’s story, saying she gave him the sex toys after he asked for help in spicing up his marriage to former model Annette Roque.
Lauer claimed on Vieira’s show that the bag was given to him by a sex therapist who appeared on the Today show, without revealing her identity or when it happened, but Berman says the incident took place in 2007.

But sex therapist Dr Laura Berman (pictured, August 2014) says she is the one responsible for giving the disgraced former talk show host the bag of adult items
Berman was a guest on Today in 2007 (pictured) and said she met Lauer in the makeup room, when he asked the makeup artist to leave
‘We were in the makeup room and he sort of asked the makeup artist to leave,’ Berman told Inside Edition.
‘He asked me about sexual aids and devices. He confided in me about some of the struggles he was having in his married relationship.’
Berman claims Lauer, who remains married to Roque, didn’t want to be seen going to a store to buy sex toys so she took care of it for him.
‘I brought him a shopping bag filled with toys from my line that were designed for couples and spicing things up,’ Berman said.

Lauer was fired by NBC News on Tuesday, November 28, amid multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
One woman told Variety that Lauer gave her a sex toy along with a note on how he wanted her to use it.
‘I’m sort of crestfallen if any of those toys were used to harass any colleagues or any women,’ Berman told Inside Edition.
Lauer was spotted still wearing his wedding ring as he finally ventured out of his Hamptons compound to take his 11-year-old son Thjis to school on Monday.
The disgraced former talk show host has been staying at his private Sag Harbor home, in Long Island, since he was fired from the Today show last week.
He may still be wearing his ring, but sources say his marriage to Roque has been on the rocks for years and they have even been living separately.
The Dutch-born former model is reported to have fled their Hamptons home on Wednesday, just 24 hours after Lauer was fired, and flown to see her family in her native Amsterdam, a source told Page Six.
