But since then Lucien Laviscount’s star has risen far, with the Emily in Paris heart-throb now rumoured to be dating Grammy-winner Shakira.
The 31-year-old plays Alfie in the hit Netflix series.
He appeared in Grange Hill in 2007 before taking roles in Coronation Street in 2009 and Waterloo Road from 2010 to 2011.
After he featured in the music video for Shakira’s song Punteria last week, the pair stepped out for dinner in New York on Tuesday.
The 47-year-old Colombian singer – who had performed a concert in Times Square earlier in the evening – was wearing a lace-up corset with platform heels.

Shakira, who has two sons – Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine – with her ex-partner, former footballer Gerard Pique, kept warm in a leather jacket. Laviscount was also in black and rocked stylish wide-leg trousers, a scarf and a grey and black moto jacket.

He and Katona met when he was 19 and she was 31 in 2011 on Celebrity Big Brother. They were filmed kissing and cuddling on the show and started a relationship after leaving the house.
They then posed together for the cover of OK! Magazine, but split after claiming it ‘was all just a bit of fun’.

In November, Shakira struck a last-minute deal with Spanish prosecutors to avoid jail for tax fraud. The singer agreed to pay a fine of €7.6million after admitting six counts of the offence, totalling €14.8million.
And she has recently discussed ‘rebuilding’ her life following her split from Spanish footballer Piqué after 11 years.
The pair separated in the summer of 2022 following rumours he was unfaithful. He has since begun a relationship with 26-year-old Clara Chia Marti.
Piqué and Shakira met in 2010 on the set of the singer’s Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) music video – the official song of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where Spain won.
