Shane Warne biopic recreates steamy sex scene between the cricketer and supermodel Elizabeth Hurley

Channel’s Nine’s new Shane Warne docuseries, titled Warnie, has recreated a steamy sex scene between the late cricketer and supermodel Elizabeth Hurley.

In an episode that aired on Monday night, Warne and Hurley, played by British actress Shanti Kali, are depicted hooking up in a London hotel room.

While Hurley takes a bath, Warne, played by Aussie actor Alex Williams, waits on a nearby bed for her to join him.

‘I can’t believe this. It’s gotta be a dream. Liz Hurley, ‘ he gushes in a voiceover.

The pair are then seen romping on a bed, with Hurley in lingerie, before a fire alarm goes off.

‘What is that hideous noise?’ Hurley asks in between passionate kisses, with Warne replying, ‘It’s a false alarm. Just… don’t listen. It happens all the time’.

The couple then dress and run into the street, recreating the moment Hurley and Warne smooched outside the cricketing legend’s London hotel in 2010 and were caught by paparazzi, unveiling their romance to the world.

Melbourne’s Windsor Hotel stood in for London in the series, with Kali and Williams passionately kissing against a wall.

‘It took a number of takes for technical reasons so there was ample time for onlookers to notice the whole spectacle,’ Kali told The Herald Sun this month.

The English model and actress said she watched ‘pretty much everything I could get my hands on’ to get Hurley’s mannerisms right.

‘She’s just such a grounded, hardworking, witty and gorgeous human being,’ she said.

Kali worked for years as an international model who has appeared in Elle Magazine, UK Glamour, Tatler and in campaigns for Uniqlo, Ugg, Nivea.

She was born and raised in London and now resides in Sydney. Warnie marks her first major acting role.

Shane and Elizabeth first got together in late 2010, before he popped the question to the Austin Powers actress in September 2011, but they sadly split in 2013.

Warne said of the romance in 2018: ‘Who knows what the future holds. There’s a difference between in love with someone and loving someone. I’ll always love Elizabeth but I don’t think we’ll ever get back together.’

Warne’s words came after he branded his romance with Elizabeth as being the ‘happiest time of his life’.

The cricketer reflected back on his romance with Elizabeth, saying: ‘When we were together we both had a great time. Unfortunately it didn’t work out.

‘It wasn’t something that she or I did wrong, it just fizzled out. We’re still great friends, we still stay in touch, we’re good for each other and our kids get along great.’

He told the Mirror: ‘I was more in love with Elizabeth than I’d realised I could be. I miss the love we had. My years with Elizabeth were the happiest of my life.’

The greatest wrist-spinner in cricket history died suddenly from a heart attack aged just 52 on March 4 while on holiday in Koh Samui, Thailand.
