Shane Warne ‘quizzed by cops’ over claim he hit porn star

Australian cricket legend Shane Warne has reportedly been questioned by police in London over allegations he hit a porn star in the face during a night out.

The former spin bowler was accused of punching 30-year-old glamour model Valerie Fox inside a nightclub Loulous in Mayfair.

Ms Fox tweeted images showing bruises and injuries she claimed were caused by Warne, before he was interviewed under caution by police on Sunday.

The 48-year-old is understood to have contacted police himself after Ms Fox made her allegations public, according to The Sun.

He has not been arrested and investigations are continuing, the paper reports.

Ms Fox shared images of her injuries online alongside a message that read: ‘Proud of yourself? Hitting a woman? Vile creature.’

Ms Fox tweeted yesterday: ‘And no, I’m not lying. Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you can hit women and get away with it.’

Witnesses inside the nightclub told journalists that they saw Warne arguing with Ms Fox on Friday night, before she fell to the floor holding her face.

Warne’s spokesman declined The Sun’s request for comment, while MailOnline has also contacted his representatives.

Since retiring from the game in 2007 the legendary Australian bowler has split much of his time living in both his home country and the UK.

Warne, who was previously engaged to actress Liz Hurley, works as a member of the Sky Sports commentary team in the UK and as a pundit for Channel Nine in Australia.

The 48-year-old father-of-three split from wife Simone Callahan in 2005, before they reconciled in 2007 only to split again.

He was most recently linked to 32-year-old Australian bikini model Emily Sears.

Ms Fox was also at the centre of a scandal with politician Nigel Farage earlier in 2017 after the pair reportedly kissed and groped each other while on a transatlantic flight.
