Former Australian test cricketer Shane Watson has sold his stunning beachside Sydney home for $10.5 million – just three weeks after putting it on the market.

Watson and wife Lee Furlong bought the five-bedroom house overlooking Bronte Beach three years ago for $9 million.

The former all-rounder is relocating his family to his hometown of Brisbane in the new year after retiring in 2016.

It is situated just minutes from cafes, bars, restaurants and schools.

Watson retired from first-class cricket in 2016 after a career defined by missed chances and underachievement.

The injury-prone all-rounder averaged 35 with the bat in tests including just 4 hundreds from 59 matches. He also took 75 wickets at an average of 33.7. 

The burly Queenslander drew the ire of fans for inconsistent performances, and fell out with former captain Michael Clarke, who described Watson as a ‘tumour’.
