Many women are afraid to wear make up to the gym or beach due to running mascara, cakey foundation or smudged eyebrows.
But Australian beauty YouTuber, Shani Grimmond, 20, has shared the secret to a perfect waterproof make up look using just nine make up products.
‘I personally don’t wear make up on these occasions but this is for the people who don’t feel comfortable without make up or just want to put on make up to feel better,’ she said in a recent video.
‘Whatever the reason is it doesn’t matter, you can do whatever you want.’

Shani started off by applying Dermalogica’s Oil Free Matte Sunscreen to her face and instead of using her hands Shani paints it on her face using a paddle brush.
‘If you’re going out in the sun you always want to be wearing sunscreen,’ she told her audience.
‘This doesn’t disturb the make up in anyway and also keeps the face nice and matte which is amazing considering I’m going to be sweating and all of that.’
She explained that the sunscreen is ‘super light’ on the skin and helps prevent shine on oily and breakout-prone skin.

Shani decided against using foundation and went straight to using concealer and set it with a translucent powder
Shani decided against using foundation and went straight to using concealer, picking Maybelline Fit Me Concealer as she said it’s ‘super light on the skin’.
‘If you have active pimples make sure you put them on with a brush and don’t just pop them on the pimples because it could spread the pimples,’ she explained.
She used a paddle brush to lightly dab the concealer on and around the pimples, put some under her eyes to get rid of purple tones and took what was left over her eyes.
Next she set the concealer with a translucent matte powder from Rimmel.
She patted it under eyes very gently so that it doesn’t crease under her eyes before sweeping it over her eyelids and over face.
This step was followed by applying a lip balm to her lips and she opted for the Lano Lips Lip Treatment.
At the time of writing Shani had 1.4 million YouTube followers, with thousands tuning in each week to watch her videos
Shani used the Benefit Gimme Brow Gel to make them darker as well as more full, thanks to the fibres in the product
Shani explained that she likes to put the lip balm on the outer edge of her lips to give the impression of bigger lips.
Shani doesn’t need to fill in her brows because they’re bold as they are but she did use the Benefit Gimme Brow Gel.
This helps make them darker as well as more full, thanks to the fibres in the product.
Next up she curls her eyelashes to make them look a bit longer.
She opted for the Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara so that it stays in place while she’s sweating in the gym and swimming underwater.

Next she dabbed on the Anastasia’s Liquid Glow and finished off the look by spraying the Glam Glow setting spray
‘You want to use waterproof otherwise its going to go all over your lids,’ Shani said.
Then she applied a small amount of Tarte Amazonian Clay to her cheeks to add a natural glow, which she lost when she applied the concealer.
Next she dabbed on the Anastasia’s Liquid Glow, a highlighter she put on her hand before applying it to her cheekbones with a beauty blender.
To prove how well her face would last Shani decided to go to the gym and the pool
‘My make up on still, I’m very impressed by how much its lasted,’ she said after submerging herself in the water
Shani finished off the look by spraying the Glam Glow setting spray to keep everything in place.
What resulted was a ‘cute, healthy, glowy and natural’ look that Shani was proud of.
To prove how well her face would last Shani decided to go to the gym and the pool so that she would sweat and have her face splashed by water, to test its effectiveness.
