Shannon Beador admits she believed joining Real Housewives Of Orange County would SAVE her marriage to ex-husband David Beador

Shannon Beador has revealed that she thought joining the cast of Real Housewives of Orange County would save her marriage to ex-husband David Beador.

While appearing on the podcast Bravo’s Hot Mic, the 59-year-old personality said that David began an extramarital affair just one day after cameras started rolling.

‘October 13, 2013 was my first day of filming, and the next day, David left on a trip with a group that he was in,’ she dished.

‘He started an affair that very next day. I had no idea.’ The former couple joined the series in season nine, which premiered in 2014.

Shortly after that is when she noticed a change in him, she told Alex Baskin.

‘I thought it was because his ego was getting bigger [because] he was getting to be on television. I remember asking Tamra [Judge] about that: Did Simon [Tamra’s ex] all of a sudden get cocky like this?’ she remembered.

‘And I was so stupid — I had no idea,’ she explained.

Shannon noted she had been hopeful that David would watch himself on the television series and realize the lack of time they spent together.

‘I thought if he watched the show back and saw how little time he spent with me, he would make more of an effort because in those rare times that we did go out to dinner, we would have fun and I would feel a connection with him,’ she opened up.

The blonde beauty expressed, ‘I just wanted more of that.

‘Most people say I don’t want to ruin my marriage and be on the show, [but] I was thinking, “Oh maybe he could learn something from it.”‘

The affair came to light during the following season of the show, becoming a focal point.

The pair, who share three daughters, began counseling and although they seemingly resolved their issues, they split in 2017.

She admitted that appearing on the show gave her hope that she could salvage the marriage and her family.

‘I might have done it differently had I not been on the show after discovering the affair. I think I would have left the marriage right away,’ she reflected on Tuesday’s podcast episode.

‘But part of me… I was working on the marriage for my first season and it was all fake with him and I thought, “I’m gonna fight for my family.”‘

‘I had been fighting for this marriage this whole season so I’m gonna keep fighting. I don’t know if I would have kept up the fight had I not been on the show,’ she said.
