Seeing Megan Thee Stallion twerk in a Marvel television show isn’t something many fans may have expected to see.
But She-Hulk: Attorney at Law audiences saw just that at the end of the third episode released on Thursday, September 1.
The show’s star Tatiana Maslany talked about how excited she was to twerk alongside the Savage rapper.

‘That’s why you take a big Marvel gig,’ she joked in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. ‘That’s why you do it.’
Megan’s cameo came about because of a storyline where an egomaniac named Dennis, played by Drew Matthews, gets scammed by a shapeshifter posing as the Sweetest Pie singer.
At the trial, the court finds in favor of Dennis, and Megan, who is in the gallery watching the proceedings, says, ‘That’s right, there’s only one Megan Thee Stallion!’

The show’s head writer Jessica Gao said Megan Thee Stallion’s cameo was a huge get for the show.
‘We didn’t even know that we could dream that big,’ she admitted. ‘When we wrote the script, all we knew was we needed to have a female celebrity who was very famous, very successful, and very beautiful. But we didn’t know if it was going to be an actress, or a model, or a musician. And depending on who it was, we knew we’d probably have to tweak the story a little bit to fit whoever we ended up casting.’
Jameela Jamil, who plays influencer super villain Titania on the show, recommended Megan for the role.

Coiro also said that Megan happens to be a huge fan of Marvel, and she quickly signed on for the cameo.
Maslany’s character Jennifer Walters also twerked with Megan at the end of the episode, and Coiro had to tell the camera operators to focus on a sensitive area.
‘I had to keep telling them to tilt the camera down — get the butt,’ she laughed. ‘Their reaction was to stay on the face, and I was like, “Down, down, down!”‘
Cast member Ginger Gonzaga, who plays Walters’ best friend Nikki on the show, said she was impressed with Maslany’s twerking ability.
‘Since Tatiana knows how to twerk so well, her a** may now replace the most iconic Marvel a** out there,’ referring to a recurring joke about Chris Evans’ Captain America and his backside.

Megan announced her casting in a cover story for New York Magazine’s The Cut, which was published on Monday.
‘When I look at [Queen Latifah and Ice Cube], it inspires me to take it further than just music,’ Megan told the mag.
‘I don’t feel like I’m only going to be an actress. I feel like I’m also going to be a director and I’m also going to be a producer.’

Stallion (born Pete) made her acting debut guest-starring as her own rap alter ego Tina Snow in the August 7th episode of Starz strip club drama series, P-Valley.
‘My alter egos have been people that I had to be at those times to be like my armor, like my shield,’ the Her hitmaker explained.
‘I had to be Hot-Girl Meg at that time. I had to be Tina Snow at that time. I had to be Megan Thee Stallion at that time. I love [my new album Traumazine] because I feel like it’s just me talking. It’s just Megan. It’s not me having to be anybody else.’
