- Sheffield United made a humiliating spelling mistake on their 2018 club calendar
- A proofreading oversight saw the product go on sale with Sheffield misspelled
- ‘SHEFIELD UNITED FC’ was written in large font on the back on the calendar
A humiliating typo led to Sheffield United misspelling the club’s name on their official 2018 calendar.
The proofreading oversight saw the calendar hit the shops with ‘SHEFIELD UNITED FC’ written in large font on the back.
A Sheffield Wednesday fan saw the product on sale before sharing a picture of it on Twitter along with the message: ‘Wen yor offishul calindar isn’t pruferead’.

Fellow fan Ashley Lloyd joked: ‘Well, at least they can finally say they are the biggest club in “Shefield”‘.
The misprinted version was also seen on sale online at calendarclub.co.uk.
United fans who have bought the calendar will likely draw a big red circle around January 12, which is the date of the next Sheffield derby.
The first meeting between the South Yorkshire rivals this season ended with United beating Wednesday 4-2 at Hillsborough in September.
Leon Clarke netted twice on that occasion and the Blades striker is currently the top scorer in the Championship with 13 goals.
After 20 rounds of league fixtures, United are fourth in the Championship table — 10 points ahead of Wednesday, who sit 12th.
