A mother has slammed a stranger after her family helped to free his bogged vehicle – before he abandoned them when their own car became stuck.

Emmy was camping with her three children and husband Cam at Gladstone Bay Campground, 750km north of Perth, on Saturday.

A stranger, Adam, came to them for help explaining he had trekked kilometres looking for assistance after his vehicle had become stuck in the mudflats.

‘We didn’t know him beforehand, gave him a lift back to his car, seen it completely bogged in the mudflats and [my husband] Cam’s first thought was: “I can’t leave someone stranded on their own”,’ she said.

‘Cam and my 14-year-old son spent hours helping you after you were clearly being an idiot on the mud flats!’

Emmy and Cam’s own car became stuck in the process of freeing the vehicle – with Adam vowing to drive back to the campsite and ask for help.

Emmy claims Adam instead drove off without telling anybody, leaving Cam and his son stranded.

It took others from the camp three days to successfully drag Cam’s vehicle out of the mud and now his wife is calling out Adam for causing the whole mess.

Emmy lashed out at Adam for abandoning her family.

‘I hope you see this. How did you sleep last night?’ she wrote.

‘You drove off out of camp like (the) absolute idiot that you are. Didn’t even stay the night to help today with the truck.

‘You piece of s***.’

What especially puzzled Emmy was that Adam paid for two nights at the campground prior to getting bogged – but chose to leave immediately after he had been freed.

‘We helped for hours digging you out, using our winches,’ she wrote on social media.

‘We pulled you out. You were meant to drive back to Gladstone bay camp and look for someone else to help us get free yet YOU LEFT, AFTER PAYING FOR 2 NIGHTS TO STAY!

‘YOU LEFT CAM AND [my son] STRANDED!’

Their vehicle was rescued by a ‘mini army’ from the campsite and now the family is warning others to keep an eye out for Adam.

‘We’d love to see him again as he did forget to say thank you so if you know him just pass it on,’ the mother wrote.

Adam was lambasted as ‘unAustralian’ by countless campers who read about his selfish act.

‘Hopefully you find him and take his radiator as a parting gesture,’ one wrote.

‘I would consider contacting the police as it’s a really unusual thing to do,’ a second added.

‘What a flog,’ a third said.

‘What a selfish, rude, disrespectful and unkind person,’ another wrote.

‘Left a family stranded. What a hero,’ one more added.
