A Bundaberg mother accused of murdering her three-year-old daughter has rushed to hospital after being found unresponsive in her jail cell.

Mother-of-three Lauren Ingrid Flanigan, 32, was arrested on Tuesday and charged her with murdering her daughter Sophia.

The little girl was found unresponsive with multiple injuries at her Moore Park Beach home on the outskirts of Bundaberg on Monday afternoon.

Queensland Police issued a statement about the shock update on Saturday.

‘Detectives from the Corrective Services Investigation Unit are investigating after a 32-year-old woman was located unresponsive while in custody at the Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre on Friday, May 30,’ it said.

‘There is no further information available at this time.’

A Queensland Corrective Services spokesperson said officers attended to Flanigan before paramedics arrived and took her to hospital.

Responding officers and their colleagues are being offered support.

Flanigan was not required to appear in person at Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Tuesday and her legal representative made no application for bail.

Her case was adjourned until July 21.

Emergency services rushed to to Flanigan’s central Queensland home about 4.45pm on Monday following ‘multiple’ reports from concerned neighbours.

Acting Superintendent Brad Inskip said a bladed weapon was allegedly found.

Two other children, aged one and two, were also home at the time but were unharmed. They are now in the care of others.

Sophia was Flanigan’s eldest child.

MMA fighter and mine worker Jai Ruane, Sophia’s father, arrived home to be with his children, aged one and two, on Tuesday.

Mr Ruane described little Sophia as ‘the light of his life’.

‘Just full of life and love.

‘She just had a huge heart.’

Earlier this week it was revealed Flanigan had previously made a series of posts about her religion, writing ‘God is calling his army out of hiding’.

It’s understood Flanigan was a member of the Alive Church in Bundaberg and would often share posts about her faith to her social media accounts.

‘Faith. Family. Future. Fitness. Built for wealth. Wired for freedom. Digital Systems. Elite Strategy. No Excuses,’ her account profile reads.

In September last year, Flanigan shared pictures of Sophia in a pink princess dress on Instagram with the caption ‘my divine babies’.
