Shocking moment erratic driver weaves between cars

This is the terrifying moment a car was spotted weaving erratically through traffic in Queensland, forcing other drivers off the road.

Video uploaded to Dash Cam Owners Australia’s Facebook page shows the Hyundai Santa Fe seemingly travelling at speed as it passes between the cars.

It then appears to slam on its brakes, with white smoke appearing, before ending up in a ditch beside the road.

‘Not your ordinary commute on my way to work today, spotted this guy driving erratically a fair way back,’ the person who uploaded the video wrote.

Choosing to remain in the right lane after witnessing the driver’s unpredictable movements, they said they watched the incident unfold before calling for help.

Two cars, including a white utility vehicle and a dark sedan, appear to have stopped suddenly as a result of the erratic driver’s behaviour.

‘Seeing what he did to the cars in front of us, I’m glad I stayed in the right lane,’ they wrote.

Online users called the driver's behaviour 'irresponsible' and 'reckless', while some suggested it could have been the result of a medical episode

Online users called the driver’s behaviour ‘irresponsible’ and ‘reckless’, while some suggested it could have been the result of a medical episode

‘The guy driving was pretty shaken up after the car stopped in the bush (and) he did not attempt to exit the car.’

Thankfully, the car came to a stop kilometres away from where ‘traffic congestion worsens’, with the witness claiming things ‘could have been much worse’.

The incident divided those online though, with many claiming that the dash cam car should not have been sitting in the right lane.

‘People who intentionally sit in the right lane to try and block people who they think are driving too fast just further aggravate these aggressive drivers,’ one person wrote.

Others chose to point out the incident was the result of the driver’s behaviour, calling it ‘irresponsible’ and ‘reckless’, while some suggested it could have been the result of a medical episode.
