A fire mysteriously broke out on a New York City subway seat early Sunday.
Witnesses near the F train at the Second Avenue station took out their cell phones to capture footage of a bizarre blaze which appeared to have destroyed someone’s jacket or bag.
In an Instagram video captioned ‘Ahh, New York’ by user stibbanski, several people are heard conversing about what may have happened.
No one was seen sitting or standing nearby the flame and no injuries were reported.

One user who commented on the Instagram video wrote: ‘Lolol, the craziness never ceases. What’s being burned??’
The man who posted the video replied: ‘haha right?! I dunno actually a jacket? Bag? Just whipped my phone out like everyone else.’
The official Twitter for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, or MTA, provided updates on the matter throughout the morning.
‘Northbound F trains have service changes and delays because of FDNY activity at 2 Av,’ the MTA wrote to their page after the incident.
‘Northbound F trains are stopping along the A line from Jay St-MetroTech to 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal, then over the E line to 36 St(Qns). FDNY is en-route to 2 Av responding. Stay tuned for updates.
‘Our crews are working with FDNY to restore service as soon as possible. Service changes remain,’ the statement said.
Services were back to normal just before 3am.
