Surveillance footage shows the shocking moment a Mustang, driven by a 16-year-old, sped through an intersection before getting hit by an SUV and splitting in half after it hit a tree, killing three.
Ring camera footage, obtained by the Staten Island Advance, shows the tragic moment siblings Jesie Gil, 15, and Fernanda Gil, 16, and their friend Ashley Rodriguez, 15, died on Saturday night.
The driver, a 16-year-old who has not been identified, can be seen driving the luxury car down Hylan Boulevard when a 2017 GMC Yukon pulls a left hand turn.
The Mustang can be seen veering toward the sidewalk before it appears to clip the corner of the Yukon, which is mid-turn. The car swerves off camera and reportedly hits a tree, which causes the two 15-year-olds in the backseat to be ejected from the vehicle.
It comes back into view of the Ring camera, spinning out into the roadway, before shooting across and hitting a telephone pole.

According to the NYPD the red mustang had been travelling east at an ‘unsafe speed,’ while the Yukon had been travelling westbound and prepared to turn left.
Police are unable to confirm the speed, as NYC’s speed cameras only operate between 10am and 6pm. As of August 1, it will move to 24 hours, according to the Staten Island Advance.
Fernanda, who had been in the front of the car, was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital North but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Both Ashley and Jesie were pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the mustang was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
A police source told the Staten Island Advance that the driver only had a learner’s permit and should have had a licensed adult in the car.
The red Mustang was completely mangled by the force of the collision, with its airbags blown and glass shattered all over the street.
The black SUV had four passengers inside, a 44-year-old female, a 19-year-old female, a 23-year-old male and an 11-year-old female.
They all suffered minor injuries and were transported by EMS to Staten Island University Hospital North.
