Shocking ‘parking’ note left on windscreen of ambulance

Paramedics trying to save a man’s life were shocked to find a shocking note on the windscreen of their ambulance telling them to park somewhere else.

They had positioned the vehicle outside a house as they helped a patient who was in a critical condition and vomiting blood.

The note said: ‘You may be saving lives, but don’t park your van in a stupid place and block my drive.’

The crew was on the scene in Small Heath, Birmingham, for less than 30 minutes before transporting the man to hospital.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said that ‘patients come first’.

He told Mirror Online: ‘Sometimes we just don’t know quite what to say.

‘At the time, the crew were helping a man who was extremely unwell after vomiting a lot of blood.

‘They assessed his condition and immediately took him on blue lights to hospital where he was in a critical condition.

‘Our staff will always try and park considerately, but sometimes, there just isn’t time. Sorry, patients come first.’

Twitter users were left outraged by a picture of the note that was posted online by the paramedics.

Hannah Stinson said: ‘Wow. That’s an awesome amount of ridiculousness/stupidity wrapped up with a bow selfishness!’

Wayne Howarth added: ‘That bloke is a pillock of the highest order. Next time he dials 999 tell him you can’t get to him cos his drive is blocked.’

And Martyn Yapp replied: ‘It’s really a sad world I live in, especially when it comes to this! Gosh what would we do without you guys on the frontline!’

Others revealed that they had witnessed paramedics being abused in similar incidents.

Sue Newsome said: ‘Horrendous! Paramedics who came to my daughter fitting when she was a baby, abused by a neighbour for blocking him in! How narrow minded!’
