‘Just as my family and I arrived at the thermal pool, we see this guy cross over the barricades and head straight for the water,’ a woman, who recorded the video, said.

‘Everyone around us was yelling for him to get out and to be careful. He did not look up and make eye contact with anyone. At one point, he took his shoes and socks off and attempted to put his feet in the water.’

According to the woman who recorded the incident, the man was behind the barricade for ‘about 10 minutes and then walked back up to the main road/parking area’.

‘There was a moment where I was definitely nervous, you never know what people’s intentions are,’ she added.

It’s unclear if the man was ticketed by park rangers for illegally crossing the barricades.

The incident occurred on September 14 and the man has yet to be identified.

Water erupting from Yellowstone’s geysers is superheated above the boiling point to an average of 204F as it leaves the vent.

The water then cools significantly while airborne and is no longer scalding hot by the time it strikes the ground, nearby boardwalks, or even spectators.

Earlier this month, Yellowstone National Park officials ticketed another man who was caught on video wandering close to Old Faithful geyser, where he risked burns from the boiling-hot water that erupts every hour or so.

The man’s actions between eruptions startled a crowd of a couple hundred people at the park’s most famous attraction. At one point, he lay on the ground near the gurgling hole.

The man appeared to urinate on the geyser while a park ranger repeatedly yelled at him to get to safety. Rangers caught up with him after he eventually walked back onto nearby boardwalks.

Rangers cited him with walking off the boardwalks in a thermal area, Yellowstone spokesman Neal Herbert said Monday. Herbert didn’t have the man’s identity.
