Four people have been injured in a drive-by shooting in Italy this morning.
A man and a passenger in a black Alfa Romeo 147 drove around the town of Macerata, opening fire at various places including near the train station as police gave chase.
The mayor of the town tweeted advice to residents to ‘stay at home’ while the suspects were at large.

Police caught the two suspects after blocking their car in. The two fled the vehicle, leaving the gun behind, but were caught by officers chasing on foot.
The motive for the attack is not clear but there are reports it is linked to the murder of an 18-year-old girl whose body was found last Wednesday. A Nigerian man has been detained over the murder.
Police said the injured people were foreign.
Police are now studying CCTV to try to identify the shooter. The motivation for the attack is not clear
