A man injured in the Christchurch mosque massacre after he moved to New Zealand for a better life has posted a heart-wrenching video from his hospital bed.

Wasseim Alsati, a barber who had migrated from Jordan five years ago, asked friends to pray for his five-year-old daughter who was critically injured in the attack.

Mr Asati was hit with four bullets, two in his back, one in the stomach and another in his foot.

His daughter Allen, was shot three times and also remains in hospital.

‘Please pray for me and for my daughter, hopefully she will be so much better,’ Mr Alsati says through stilted breaths.

Barely able to get the words out, Mr Alsati apologises for not being able to take phone calls.

‘I’m very sorry to miss your calls and text messages, I will not be able to answer any of them right now, I am really tired.’

‘I’m just posting this video to show you that I’m fully ok.’

‘It’s been a pleasure to know you all guys, thank you for all your support and all the help you have given me so far,’ he added.

‘God bless you all.’

It is believed that his daughter is now in a stable condition after undergoing surgery on Saturday and is with her mother at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland.

A relative close to the family took to Twitter to announce her relief.

‘Her blood pressure is rising and she’s a fighter,’ albifalasteen wrote.

After moving from Jordan in 2014 to become a barber, Mr Alsati opened up his own business called Wass’ Barbers in Richmond in Christchurch where he has also been residing with his family.

Authorities have confirmed at least 49 people were killed in the massacre and at least 40 were injured.

Among them, one Jordanian, Khaled Haj Musatafa, was killed in the attacks and another eight injured, Jordan’s Foreign Ministry announced, Arab News reports.

Brenton Tarrant, 28, appeared in Christchurch District Court charged with murder on Saturday, after he allegedly stormed a mosque in Christchurch, opening fire with a semi-automatic shotgun and a rifle on about 100 defenceless people attending Friday prayers.
