A woman who allegedly tried to steal a hot meat pie by putting it down her pants and four Cadbury Twirl chocolate bars by stashing them in her bra has been charged with shoplifting.
Police claim the 26-year-old, of Canley Vale, Sydney, was seen putting the hot meat pie down the front of her pants at a Chatswood supermarket on September 6.
The woman then allegedly visited the confectionery aisle to add to her collection.
A woman who allegedly tried to steal a hot meat pie by putting it down her pants and four Cadbury Twirl chocolate bars by stashing them in her bra has been charged with shoplifting.
Police said she proceeded to leave the shop without paying for the items, but was stopped by officers – who were conducting an operation in the suburb at the same time.
They questioned the woman about the bulge in her pants, prompting her to reveal the items, according to police.
The woman was charged with shoplifting and will face Hornsby Local Court later this month.

After posting about the incident on Facebook, North Shore Police Area Command shut down complaints the woman may have been homeless and desperate for a meal.
‘I can assure you that this was not the case on this occasion,’ the command alleged on Facebook.
‘We would never make light of a person’s plight.’
‘Locally we have a number of specialist officers that are dedicated to providing aid to someone who is homeless or in some other way vulnerable.’
