In a glowing review on social media, she shared a ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures of her Kmart towels appearing the same as the day she purchased them.

‘The other day on a Kmart shopping trip I was looking at towels, I noticed they had two types – one really cheap and then they have these $10 to $13 towels which are still cheap, but when I picked it up, it was beautiful,’ she wrote in a Facebook group.

‘So I thought I’d buy one and wash it and see what happens and see how good it is.’

The woman said she noticed the Kmart towels were just as ‘fluffier’ and ‘softer’ as her Sheridan version.

‘I have purchased a few Sheridan towels. I love a really good quality towel Sheridan towels cost me $50 each and that was on sale,’ she explained.

‘I actually feel that the $10 Kmart towel is just as good, if not better than my expensive Sheridan towels. I fully recommend everyone go and get themselves some $10 towels from Kmart – you will not be disappointed.’

Most shoppers agreed with the woman’s feedback, with many raving about the quality and price of the towels Kmart offers.

‘I brought these too and they are so thick and luscious. You have the luxury of an expensive towel without the price tag. They have been washed many, many times and still the same as the day I brought them,’ she said.

Another woman said: ‘Yes I find my Sheridan towels very rough now but the Kmart ones are definitely much softer,’ while one added: ‘I’ve always bought Kmart bath towels. Very absorbent, came out nice and fluffy from the drier, the last lot I bought was about six years ago and no signs of wear and tear yet.’

However, many shoppers said they could never replace Sheridan with cheaper brands as some suggested the woman may be washing her towels incorrectly.

‘Sheridan towels are the best… the secret ladies is to wash your towels in wool wash – they will be amazing fluffy forever,’ one said.

Another woman added: ‘Sheridan are far better than Kmart. Last a lot longer if cared for properly. Remember never use fabric softener on towels.’

Many said they have been using the expensive brand for years, with two women admitting their towels have lasted them more than two decades.

‘My Sheridan towels are 22 years old now. Still have great colour, little pulls and soft. Kmart never even dried me and left fluff everywhere,’ one said, and another added: ‘I also have a Sheridan towel that’s looking good after 20 years.’
