Sick Pat Cummins leaves the field at MCG

An upset stomach has forced Pat Cummins to trudge off the MCG on day two of the fourth Ashes Test.

Cummins delivered a three-over spell on Wednesday, had a quick chat with skipper Steve Smith then left the field.

The right-armer was bowling under duress in Melbourne. Cummins failed to generate his trademark bounce and express pace.

“He has almost got a bit of a lumber back to his mark,” Mark Taylor said on the Nine Network.

“He doesn’t look right. He threw his head back after he bowled the last ball.”

Cummins spent four overs in the rooms then returned to the field, still looking unwell.

Cummins endured almost six years of injury hell following his Test debut in 2011 but this year has been the fittest member of Australia’s pace attack.
