Simon Cowell joins Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams and to back music TV streaming service Roxi

Simon Cowell has become the latest investor in the music TV streaming service Roxi. 

Roxi, already backed by Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams and record labels Universal, Sony and Warner, has signed up the creator of The X Factor. Cowell, 63, said: ‘I love that Roxi is giving us a new way to enjoy music and music videos. 

It’s fantastic to be a part of the Roxi team.’ He comes aboard as Roxi prepares to launch in North America next year.

Its chief executive Rob Lewis said: ‘We’re excited to welcome Simon to the Roxi team and we are committed to delivering the best music experience to smart TVs worldwide.’ 

Roxi has UK distribution deals in place with Sky for Sky Q, Amazon for Fire TV and Google for Android TV. 

Other backers include McLaren Formula One team founder Ron Dennis.
