But Simon Cowell didn’t find David Walliams’ latest joke the least bit funny when the comic, 46, joked that the TV judge had slept with co-star Amanda Holden on Britain’s Got More Talent on Tuesday night.
The music mogul, 58, looked mortified by the gag and told David, 46, that he had ‘crossed the line’, before ordering him to leave the theatre.

Their heated exchange happened when host Stephen Mulhern asked who of Simon’s three co-judges would be considered his ‘deputy’.
While Amanda and Alesha Dixon both chose themselves, David had other ideas, scribbling on his white board: ‘Amanda (because they did it).’
Standing up with a smile on his face to see what David had written, Simon’s grin quickly disappeared when he saw the cheeky quip.

‘You’ve crossed the line,’ he told his co-star, with a furious look on his face.
‘Good!’ the Little Britain star hit back, before a giggling Amanda said: ‘David, Christopher’s upstairs,’ referring to her husband Chris Hughes.
Simon – who is in a relationship with long-time partner Lauren Silverman – then seethed: ‘You really are a smutty little man, aren’t you?’

He then ordered David to ‘get out’, though the children’s author didn’t seem to mind, retorting: ‘Good, because I’ve got dinner with Russell Crowe, anyway.’
But the comment was no joke as the Oscar-winning Gladiator star was in fact sat in the crowd as the second semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent got underway.
Tuning into the ITV broadcast, eagle-eyed fans quickly spotted the 54-year-old clapping and cheering from the audience, where he was sat alongside Les Miserables co-star Samantha Barks and comedian Jimmy Carr.

The actor was no doubt present with Samantha to support fellow Les Miserable star Alfie Boe, who was performing during the ITV results show.
After the live event, held at the Hammersmith Apollo, Russell posed for a few snaps backstage with judge David and his showbiz pals.
Sharing one to his own Instagram page, Little Britain star David wrote with excitement: ‘A-list guests at BGT tonight!’
